Why should you choose me for your locksmith services?

I am reliable and trustworthy and fully qualified. Because I work for myself, you will never have to go via a third party and will always talk to me.

There are various brands of locks used worldwide. I also use locks that adhere to British industry standards that are kept in line with regulations and your insurance policies.

Is your work guaranteed?

Yes. All work and parts come with a one year guarantee.

What's the best way to contact you?

My preferred method of communication is WhatsApp or fill out the contact form.

How many keys come with a new lock?

This depends on the manufacturer, but normally it would be between three or five keys.

I am moving home. Should I get new locks?

You do not need to worry about the locks on your current property and you can leave that to the buyers. However, if you would like to change the locks on your new home, please contact me after you have moved in.

You have no idea who may have had access to the house previously or who the previous owners may have lent keys to, so a lock change is highly recommended.

What methods of payment do you accept?

Bank transfer is my preferred method and my bank details will be stated on my invoice.

I can accept cash if a bank transfer is not possible.

I am not able to accept payments by cheque.

I am not currently able to accept payment by credit/debit card, but may do so in the future.

When would I expect to receive an invoice for your work?

I would normally send an invoice by email within three business days of completing the work. If you prefer one sending by post it may take a little longer.

I am not sure I can afford a new lock. Can you repair it instead?

I will always try and repair rather than replace in the first instance. As a small, local business I try to provide a professional service that is value for money and not replace locks unnecessarily.

My key has broken in my lock? What do you suggest?

Please do not try and remove the key yourself and definitely don't follow any advice you might see on YoutTube. You could end up damaging the door or window. Contact me l and I will tell you how I can help.

My insurance company has asked if I can prove my locks are of the required standard. Can you help with this?

Yes. All my locks meet British industry standards and adhere to standard residential insurance policies.

My house has been burgled. What should I do?

Make sure you call the police first as they may need to secure the area first. However, after that you can give me a call and I will come and assess the situation and work with you to get the building as secure as possible in the shortest space of time.

Do you charge for a call out or quote?

I do not charge a call out fee and all quotes are free of charge.

How much do you charge for your services?

Every job is bespoke so I quote based on your requirements. Because I do not work via a third party, I can promise you a competitive price. I may be able to give you a rough quote over the phone once you give me further information on your situation.

I first contacted Neil on Thursday about a garage side door which we didn’t have keys for. He said he would be able to replace it for us on the Sunday of that week. He did exactly this, and also ended up replacing the original garage door lock too. This part had to be ordered in so he returned on Tuesday. My partner actually ended up being locked out of the house on Tuesday afternoon (another faulty lock!) and called Neil to let him know. Luckily he was already on his way & arrived soon after, completed the original job & replaced the front door lock so my partner could access the house. My back door was getting difficult to close, so Neil popped round and made some adjustments and explained what he was doing and it now closes so easily I have to be careful not to slam it through habit, I'm delighted! I asked about another problem while he was here...a big gap in one part of the door frame and he's now looking for my unusual type of door hinge to replace one that seems to be faulty and it will be fantastic if he can get that gap sorted as it can be drafty in winter. I might get an upgraded front door lock now too, since he's explained all the different types and I didn't change the lock when I moved in.
